Youd think "Protected No Claims" (at a cost of £100 per year extra) would be a good thing, till you read....

Quote:
Your bonus shall not be prejudiced, provided mo more than one prejudicial claim is made in any of THREE CONSECUTIVE YEARS. In the event of 2 claims in any 3 consecutive years the NCB will revert to 3 years and to nil for any further claims"

Many dont realise the hidden pitfalls

Theres claiming then finding out it would have been cheaper to fix it themselves when 5 years lost NCB is calculated

Then theres ooopsadaisy....buy a £23,000 car, smash it up the next day, get bottom book (£17,000) and also the HP fees....£4000.....you are £5000 in debt

insure on the knock, write a car off after a couple of months, you paid £7000 for your car, the bottom book is £5000....less excess..£400....and they want your insurance paid up out of the £4500 so you get £3000

Clause in mine;

"If the policy is cancelled within the first 3 months no refund of payments will be made."

So if you pay in installments you'll have nothing more to pay, but if you paid in full you get nothing back :shock:

Of course with most policy's you have to pay 20% up front and then the balance over 9 more payments so if you cancel just before the end of 3 months you could have paid nearly half of the premium.
