I suppose it depends how you view this. It could be that their existing drivers have been found out for not doing the CPC. :wink:

then it would be chucked back out to tender if it went from a D1 to a D job

no, i bet the firm has sacked a driver or won a job they couldnt do in the hope of recruiting a driver

I am not so sure that it is just one job that they are having a problem with. They are asking for drivers. Which Council is it? There was something on the local news about a school having to close and places found for around 130 kids at other schools. It could be something to do with transporting those kids.

And whoever takes it on must employ that driver and any escort required,
That's the law now for all school contracts.
So how does this pan out with owners claiming drivers are self employed???????????????

where did you get that from?

From the rules and regulations that came out when they allowed any owner to bid for any contract nationwide

What rules and regulation is that? If it's for a PSV, then yes possibly; p/h or taxi I doubt it.

certainly not been mentioned on the three counties i get asked to work over, and thats with some jobs out OF the three counties...

id have thought the other way round given the Bus/VOSA/D/D1 isnt a local matter whereas HC/PH is (though not at county council level)

hang on, rarely does any county council wish to get involved in, or pay for, jobs outside the county

can you expand?
