Whilst meandering home last night, I was driving up Hampstead road NW1.

In the distance I could see this almighty light display near addison lee's HQ.

They have only gone and put up two HUGE flashing neon signs advertising for drivers to come and work for them.

When i say huge, i'm not exagerating! It's like the Piccadilly Cicus of NW1!

This is in addition to a large advert every week in the Evening Standard, and a bounty of 25 squid, for every minicab driver that cares to visit their recruitment office.

The point of this story?

It would appear the London Minicab industry seems to have a slight staff retention problem.

. . . . and Ollie tells me its wonderful? :^o

I would much rather be in a trade that needs more people, than one with too many in.

But one has to wonder why they are so short of drivers. If its a case of them having bundles of work, then good, but if its a case of drivers not earning and leaving, then not so good. :?

For £25, It could be an idea to go in and find out. Have they the work and not enough drivers?
Or are the drivers leaving having done the knowledge whilst working for A/lee.
Thinking about it, There does not seem to be as many of A/lee cars about.

 I might park up and pop in for an interview! Apparantly you get Coffee and biscuits as well!

I still see a lot of Addison Lee cars about, remember they don't have the signage in the back window any more.

Perhaps Mr Griffen's been fighting with them again?

I heard that the £25 goes toward payment off your licence ( Minicab type).

My dad works for addison lee, he seems happy enough, this is his second time working for them, he started on the vans and after a 4 year break went onto the private hire stuff in a fiat people carrier, he has been there about 6months now, and always seems to do well, plenty of cash jobs about, but augaust has been very quiet for him,
they also have an internet system wear addison lee put pre book jobs on the net for you to search through amd you can put your name against them, living in medway my dad gets jobs goin to city airport most mornings,

I would work for them,

there are certain rules to how many hours you have to work and i thin it wrks out about 10 hours a day

hope this helps

Slow down on the w.p.m my old son.

So tell me Podge, how many days does Mr Griffen tell your Dad to work, and how much does the generous Mr griffen charge him for the rental of his vehicle? :?

Obliged, GBC.

PS. August is always quiet, schools out, holidays, and suicide bombers don't help.

I can't really see the point of this question. If Daddy Podge wants to work for Addison Lee then what's the big issue?

It doesn't matter if he is told to work a 100 hours a week, or pays a £1000 a week for the car, it's Daddy Podge's decision. And who knows his needs more than him.

If however you are saying that you think the conditions Addison Lee have are un-reasonable, then that's a different matter. But you have chosen to drive the other type of cab.

But I would think the lack of licensed PH drivers is a bloody good thing for Daddy Podge, both in terms of how he is treated by Addison Lee, and by how much money he has in his pocket.

Are you the 'question' monitor this week?

I'm asking a question because I wish to know how much Mr Griffen charges?

Is that OK?

Thank you.

It's perfect, but if you want to know how much, why not answer the advert? :-k

Why don't you come on board, we don't mind. :D

Or you could join one of the PH firms run by your mates the two Geoffs.

But don't mention the PH firm Comcab have. :-$

Why would I want to add £45 a week on to my outgoings? :?

You don't need terminals on nights.
