in your day to day taxi'ng profession?

It could be to monitor your expense/books. Or how about recording journeys to pick up various trends throughout the day...Or anything else taxi related.
Would love to hear your thoughts?

I've got mine all set up to deduct everything at the end of the year leaving my profit and loss boxes all filled in. If you want a copy email me your email address and I'll mail you a copy over, you can alter it to make it your own.

Yes, keep a record of the jobs I've done (1 row per job, column headings: date, time, name of pax, drop off/pick up, which operator job is for, job no, invoice no, fare), other sheets/tabs are for expenses - fuel, parking, mainternance, etc..

It's handy to know and work out the best time to work for that operator, and when the best jobs are.

I keep a record of all the jobs I do, whether the work is booked through me or other operators. I can see how much money comes from which operator, and whether it's worthwhile me being on their books.

Google has just launched something call add-ons which will make plotting jobs on a map quite easy!

Yep i know.

But wouldnt a base send the nearest free driver when a job comes in? In which case it would be handy to know when and where there are peak times. Once I can build up a database I can automatically plan and predict to be at the right places to pick up more jobs!

I know all of this probably sounds stupid most of you seasoned drivers!!! :)

In Birmingham! In the evenings around China Town and Broad Street. At the times when shows and gigs are ending either the Hippodrome or the NIA. Daytime near the hospitals, New Street station or the Bull Ring.
What more do you need to know?
