a local radio staion yesterday: (BBC Southern Counties Radio) and there was a piece on Eastbourne and the topic of lack of WAV's in the town cropped up including the following: A visitor to the town, who was wheelchair bound broke down in her vehicle during the night and the AA or RAC tried to arrange for a WAV from the Eastbourne taxi company's. The journey was from Eastbourne to Polegate which was just a few miles away. None of the company's could supply one so the breakdown company called a taxi company from Brighton which covered the job for them at the cost of £47. The story didnt have a date but must have been recent. I found this news story on my other forum (cabby), any views from anyone who works this area (!!??)
Have a nice week all, Sweden beckons once more.
Unforunatley so does my mother-in-law. Swedish in-laws are no different.

Yes, I believe that Sussex is more than willing to put a WAV on in Eastbourne, but the irony is that it's the vested interests of people like the one who authored the post that are preventing him from doing so. It's those pots and kettles again

You would have thought the liars forum would have been a bit more concerned at the way the Eastbourne cab trade treat wheel-chair bound folk.
Instead they imply that it's a big fat lie. Which I'm quite sure the AA/RAC wish it was too.

Bet the breakdown firm called PH offices, and were told no can do. I found this news story on my other forum (cabby), any views from anyone who works this area (!!??) the dundee wheel chair association have asked for an added increase in fare for wheelchairs, based on the amount of time spent loading and unloading, does any other citys allow this ?not that its going to make much difference with less than one wheelchair job a month i dont forsee many early retirements |
