My base has just announced they are upping the admin charge for all account/credit work. This has been met with hostility by drivers. Was just wondering what most bases charge for such work. Ours was 5% and had just been put up to 10% |

Ours was 5% and had just been put up to 10% your lucky.... i know for a FACT that a Leics county council "won" for £20 a day by a local firm is being paid to the car that does the job at £10/day, thats not admin thats robbery.... tell me, how do you know what the base actually gets for the job, do you see the contract? |

I also know a West Brom base with 100+ PH cars paying £120/week rent is making £240,000 a year from creaming accounts, in addition to £620,000+ a year in rents |

Surprise surprise unscrupulous operator in screwing drivers non shocker You can guarantee they will be making more than that elsewhere in the deal Up here drivers are lucky to see 60% of the true value of a contract job Vote with your feet and find a more open and decent company to work for or just tell them to stick their credits |

So a 100% rise in their prices... you must have a different rate of inflation in your part of the world. |

As I said, the starting point is total transparency, i.e. what is the base/circuit charging for the job? If your a LCC area driver the results are shown online in the public domain http://www.leics.gov.uk/tenderresults-176.htm |

For card jobs, the customer pays the surcharge so the drivers get the fare as normal. |
