They already do...haven't you noticed the DB liveried loco pulling the Royal Train around the country?

A tale from a mate who used to work in Control at Waterloo after a German was seconded to learn the British way of doing things: mate "what do you know about running an intensive service?" Reply: "ve haf many years experience running crowded cattle trains to a strict timetable"...harrumph!

Just after WW2 a German football team beat an English team in a kickaround, one German said "Ve haf just beaten you at your national game tommy"

to which the tommy replied "and weve just beaten you at yours"

DB=Deutsche Bundesbahn, the German State Railway. :shock:

EWS is now DB-Schenker. Do keep up with the train spotting forum! :badgrin:

Arriva is German-owned...
