Post subject:  vehicle damage!!!

I was made aware on Saturday that one of our vehicles had sustained some minor damage to the rear bumper. It is not bad but it will require to go into the bodyshop to be sorted out. It will cost £150 for the repair. Now we have never argued about the cost of such repairs and we are quite easy going and do not "have a go" at the driver or anything. However it was not the driver who told us about the damage but a 3rd party. Apparently the driver thought they could T cut the damage out but it is to deep. We looked at it on Saturday and said we would sort it out. Today the driver wanted to leave the car for the repair. I told her that the car was not booked in for the repair until the 14th. Not a problem you would think. At this point she tells me that the Council inspected the vehicle on Friday last week and put a 7 day delayed suspension on the repair. I asked her why she hadn't told me and she said that she thought she could fix it without letting me know.
I thought that was bad enough but when I read the delayed suspension notice it has been written on it by the enforcement office where it asks for the owner details, our company name and a note in brackets saying don't tell PF. PF being me. What the f**k is going on.

Why? We accept that sometimes cars sustain damage. It isn't done on purpose. The car is ours and we accept the money from the drivers when everything is good so we pay for the repairs when things go bad. I don't think that legally we could charge for any damage or repairs. It is called a business risk. This is what insurance is for. Obviously in this case the damage is small. My gripe is with the council putting on the suspension notice that I am not to be informed about the damage.

2 reasons

She didnt report the damage to you and she deliberately tried to avoid you finding out, grow a pair and sack her

In fact THREE reasons, she KNEW it needed repair and KNEW it had a suspension notice, what was she gonna do when that ran out?

and many insurers require ALL accidents be reported and some double the excess if not reported within 48 hours, if your gonna claim she may have caused you issues
