Ok we know that taxi drivers can get work for nothing, after all associated costs of purchasing & licensing a vehicle and themselves, by sitting on a rank and waiting.
Private hire drivers however pay an operator for work of somewhere between £85/£120 pw plus any % creamed off for contract work. This may also apply to taxi drivers that work on circuits.
Now entering the market are online bookers such as Cabfind, Ots, Cabmaia, Minicabit etc, etc and they either take a % of the job or they add a % to the job. There are the chauffeur companies that provide vehicles but pay drivers on an hourly rate, but, only while they have a passenger on board and now we are being offered Apps to obtain work. Apps at the moment are primarily for taxi drivers but there are Apps that can work for private hire drivers as well.
I'm interested in knowing what are the charges for the Apps etc that are out there.
I know Ots have companies bid for work and can take anything from nil to £25 per job, depending on how desperate they are to get it covered.
I think Cabfind add to quotes that are given to them and usually take the cheapest quote but I'm not 100% sure
Minicabit say they take 10% but I've heard of 20% being taken from jobs
Cabmania charge 10% and have to be paid in advance judging by their website
Uber take 20%
I don't know what charges are made by Hailo, Gettaxi, TaxiApp or any others out there and I'm interested to find out.
Also are these % including vat or excluding vat?
So if you know, share it
