Well apart from plodding along and minding my own business at the Open this year it appears that a couple of our larger companies wish to mind my business too. I was at the allocated pick up point waiting for my fares when some guy, in a high viz with a clipboard, asked me who I was waiting for. I told him the first name of my customer then asked him who he was and why he wanted to know. His reply was whom he worked for, which was one of our larger companies and then he said because if I can get you job I will. I told him it wasn't his job to get me any jobs so he took the huff and walked away. Yesterday at the same place I was asked similar questions by another guy in similar attire who also asked my badge number as well, at which point I asked if he worked for the council licensing dept, he said no he worked for the other of our larger companies. Now I have no idea why they're doing this but if the point is to get work for drivers surely this touting.

The other thing I've noticed is that there are a lot of Mercedes driving around taking people from A to B as VIPs, how do you find out if their vehicles and drivers are licensed?

It could be the alternative tartan for the commonwealth games, due to the first choice being bogging
