Quite out of the blue I had a "Your Fuel Bill" is online to view! In our house, as many have done, we have set up "Direct Debits" to pay various bills with the added facility online to be able to check all is right. Back in February we changed our energy supplier, on the changeover date I stopped the "Direct Debit" as some have a bit of history in taking a bit more than they should, and waited for the "YOU OWE" us letter, which we paid straight away. I would have thought that was it all neat and tidy from both ends............not the case! As I said a notification came through "Your Fuel Bill" is online to view! the problem was we were no longer with that particular company having as mentioned left them in February. Out of curiosity I dug out the old account + password etc, lo and behold there was £12 odd laying as a surplus in our closed account. Now I do realise this is not life changing, so I shall now be contributing the said sum of money towards keeping bar staff in employment.....so some good will come out of it for them and us. Having typed the above situation, how annoying that business in this country are allowed to get away with what could have been a form of theft..............how many final accounts have money laying in them that belongs to others? It may very well be worth checking old accounts that may spawn the pound that buys the lottery ticket, that changes your life forever Or at least stops the greedy buggers from retaining your cash. |

I got letter telling me I was £260 in credit on my electricity, when I rang and asked for it back they said no, no it's a computer error you're not really in credit we'll send you a proper bill out today. I asked them if the computer ever made an error and over charged but of course it doesn't do that does it

When my water company changed the meter I got a letter saying my direct debit was doubling. When I queried it they said it was standard to base the dd on average use (for a family of four) when a meter is changed, I said in 20 years of living at the property my usage had remained constant and I wasn't suddenly going to start using twice as much, and that there was only one person in the house not a family of four. They said nothing could be done until after a years worth of bills after which the dd would be re-adjusted based on usage. I asked if the overpayment would be refunded - no, credited against future bills. |

Just stop paying the "Bill" then your complaint will be brought to the notice of people who make decisions. They will probably end up trialing what you are wanting to pay (within reason)....and then adjust accordingly. |

I've recently changed energy supplier and am now over £60 a month better off. I also get interest on anything they get that is "over" what is actually owed.

I would guess that it is electric because you don't have day/night tariffs for gas. |

Quote: I would guess that it is electric because you don't have day/night tariffs for gas. Fair enough. Having said that I would still like to see what Wannas overall deal is. It might be a good idea for others to also put their heating tariff/deals for all to see - we can all benefit from that. We are with "Mygreenstarenergy/Hudson supply" Fixed-24 Feb 2014. Elec 13.837 p/kWh Standing charge 19.37 per day Gas 3.858 p/kWh Standing charge 22.32 p.d X posted with Wanna............Paying £132 p/m with a credit at the moment of appox £225. |
