Night Buses started in September 2004. £3 Fare.
It could take 45 minutes to get home one mile from the City centre.
Punters knew it was cheaper to get a TAXI home.
Subsidised to the tune of £10 per passenger, they were hailed (sic) a success, by the council and police.
Each bus carried an average FOUR passengers.
One year on they are so "Successful" the operators, (The City and County Councils, the police,) they are now running for FREE, at the rate payers expense.
And still they are used by a handful each weekend.
Just another sign of significant lack of demand.
