Post subject:  public liability insurance

I have just read some of the small print on my new insurance policy. I thought this was quite good.

Public Liability Extension
In addition to third party liability cover as defined by the Road Traffic Act and covered by this Insurance, there is in place a Public Liability extension to the Policy to indemnify a
situation that if during the performance of organised voluntary work or paid employment by a driver indemnified by this Insurance, insurers will indemnify the Policyholder in
respect of a claim arising from the following situations;
1. A passenger is injured or their property damaged while the driver or passenger’s assistant is escorting the passenger to the passenger’s home after leaving the vehicle
2.A passenger is killed or injured after leaving the vehicle as a result of breakdown, fire, accident or sickness during the journey and/or a third party’s property is damaged as a direct
result of passengers leaving the vehicle under these circumstances
3. A passenger is dropped off on the ‘wrong’ side of the road and is injured when crossing
4.Under a school contract a pupil injures another pupil whilst the Policyholder under a local council contract has responsibility for the supervision of the pupils.

How does a "circuit" car (say owner driver) given a school run, who doesnt have his/her own PL get covered by a base PL policy?

surely the individual car requires cover?

anyway, school runs are only part of it, anyone not having PL in this day and age of blame+claim is mental IMHO

I would think that the owner of the car is the one who is responsible for all and any insurance. We don't have any owner drivers. The company owns and insures all the vehicles.
