It is a 2007 Laguna. Someone paid to have the lights upgraded to some xenon things. On the plus side, it is the first time in over 5 years that we know to that a headlight has needed to be changed and the lights are very good.

The performance of the headlamp is perceived to be "better" because of the much higher level of foreground lighting (on the road immediately in front of the car). However, the beam patterns produced by this kind of "conversion" virtually always give less distance light, and often an alarming lack of light where there's meant to be a relative maximum in light intensity. The result is the illusion that you can see better than you actually can, and that's not safe."

This is the reason why so many of these conversions dazzle oncoming vehicles, the bulbs are'nt matched to the reflectors so the beam pattern is wrong. Should be picked up at MOT time though (it's a fail).

Yes it is a proper job. I believe it was an upgrade option when the car was bought new.

What is it with Laguna's and Xenon headlights? I had one a few years ago when I PX'd my Signum against one. That has Xenon headlights.

They won't last two minutes for £7.

The ones in this car are D2S. Yes cheaper ones are available but the factor only had the expensive one in stock and our lo sends the car home until the bulb is replaced.
