Obviously depends on what sort of work you do - airport runs/town work/chauffeur (one client) work.

My car is on a 45,000mile/year lease, currently within that by 2,000miles/year.

Many manufacturers which quote figures for chauffeur programs/leases often typically quote at 20,000miles/year.

Volvo's programme quotes a more realistic 50,000miles/year http://www.volvocars.com/uk/sales-servi ... range.aspx

Used vehicle lists will also give some sort of idea:

My Skoda about 30,000 miles a year. Doesn't matter how many miles a year you do, how much a mile are you getting??

Just remember people, as a rough guide, the taxman expects you to show £1 earned for every mile covered. If you use your vehicle for personal use then you obviously have to take this off as a percentage, (as well as taking this same percentage of your allowable expenses). There are of course, regional differences to do with fare rates and geography etc.

Keep seperate fuel reciepts for private mileages, or have a 2nd car in your name, M3 Cortina's ar cool

BTW, its an owners privelige to charge any rate to customers, i.e. schools might be peanuts
