Post subject:  Will i be offered a speed saftey course
My own fault i was flashed at 4am doing between 30-40mph on Scotland road in Liverpool, anyone know the guidelines for the course...3 lanes each way..

When was the last time you did a speed awareness course? If it was 3 years and over and you were under the speed threshold you'll be invited to take the course.

Sorry. meant to say between 30/40mph....thought i had gone tru the cameras and started to speed up when the flash went off...i was the only car on the road so it had to be me

first of all.....wait for the notice, dont panic yet

40 in a 30 you should get the speed course option if its your only one in 3 years or so

Well if you do get a speed awareness course I'd forget about saying that you thought you'd got through the camera before you sped up because you had to be speeding for a certain distance in the first place. It was always my understanding that there are two flashes on that particular type of speed camera so if you are caught you wouldn't have been near the end of the lines in the first place IMHO :wink:

Bit off topic here curious about not that I would like to try it but can the red light traffic cameras also flash for speeding? Specifically meaning the 2 sets on borough road birkenhead if that matters.

There are 2 types of camera. Gatso and Truvelo. The Truvelo only flashes once when it is pointing at you. not sure about when you have passed it.

It rather depends on his ACTUAL speed, his speedo would read over, if it was showing 40mph he may only have been doing 35mph, he may even get away with a freebie
