Who works for a fair base/circuit with no feeding, no cherry picking, no base budgies RTB after every job, no inner/outer circle, no account premiums creamed off the top, a base rent the same for all (with a receipt for dues paid), and no base owned cars/family/base PAYE drivers always in the front of the queue for the good jobs, and no drivers who arent at work rung to give them a juicy job?

Every firm has them mate, I flipped my lid a few weeks ago with the dayshift office staff... I asked them, "why certain drivers aren't on the rank but they're always seen with passengers on board?" They couldn't answer it.

A few days later I went into the office and asked the lad who was on nights to have a look at his earnings, he worked less hours than me by a long way and took £200 more over the week.

Im hacked off cos theres 4 or 5 in the good job queue before they even get booked on the system, then base ops looking after their PARTNERS (drivers) even before the "grace and favour" inner circle (chocs for the ops) section

im gradually warming to the rank, plus there are 2 other circuits in town

as I said to another ex-base driver (jumped ship), us, the rank and file represent the company and carry signage/hand out cards on the short jobs (bulk of jobs) then the vultures get the meat like a Torquay return (2 x £250 jobs) for a customer I see now and then when I take em shopping (£4)

I dont so much mind the base owners kids creaming and cherry picking work but when its one of THEM hassling far too many drivers to turn in it sticks in the craw if you understand

I have no problems, I'm even allowed to take my own bookings, I usually find the ones that moan are the ones who do not work, if your wheels are turning then your earning. Hmm unless your in Bolsover then you would be out of pocket.

Last saturday i had a half decent 1 off the rank, dropped her and she asked for a taxi back later.....

well darn and blow me socks of i only went and did it meself, argghhh jim lad

one thing our owner wont tolerate is "feeding" by the desk clerks, hes sacked a few for it , mainly nightshift clerks
