On a Saturday dayshift why do I take double money with low mileage compared to Saturday night where I struggle to get anywhere near what I've took in the daytime with added dead miles?

I'm thinking about sacking the nightshifts off and working days only.

Night shift base ops who aint got a clue = dead miles

I did only 90 miles yesterday for £150 takings, the good operator was on......with one of the others it woulda been 150 miles/£150

Because every cabby is out in the evening, but not out during the day.

I think the night-time economy has lost out following the smoking ban.

I think your right on that one. For the last three Saturdays I've taken more in the day than I have at night with T2 added on.

we have "night" drivers (full time car renters @ £320 a week) who turn out now at noon cos nights isnt so good, which in turn wrecks days

Our nights drivers don't start until 4-5pm which leaves us day men earning the £££

thats voluntary though, they COULD turn out early, the cake slices get thinner

our day renters start at 7pm generally, £60 rent for 1 shift
