So last night I was dropping off in Mansfield when I was approached by the Mansfield Licensing officer, her words were, "turn your top light off." I said, "my customers have only just got out, wind your neck in." 1 hour later I'm dropping off down there again more or less in the same place, drops customers off and there's a knock on the window, "can you turn your top sign off." By this time I'd had enough of her, I was bubbling and said, "I'm on my way out," now go and do your job and catch "YOUR" licensed drivers who are cherry picking not 50 yards away.
Fast forward an hour and I'm sent down Mansfield for a booking, low and behold she's there, she came up to the car and said, "can I see the details of your booking?" I refused her because I felt she was singling me out. My booking came, she asked if I was for Chambers to Kirkby in Ashfield and I said yes love I am. The Licensing officer pulled her to one side and said, "I wouldn't go in that car because they're dangerous." I heard what she said so I got out of the car to confront her, I asked her if she'd like to say that again? The customer said laughing, "she reckons your dangerous," the licensing officer said that I was scaring my customer, the customer turned round and said to the licensing officer that the only person that was scaring her was her and her actions.
The customer Chambers was with her friend who lived in Mansfield, the licensing officer said her friend who lived in Mansfield wasn't allowed to get into the Taxi even though the booking had a via Forest Town in Mansfield added to it. The friend was left to try and get a Mansfield Taxi who were busy cherry picking their jobs under the licensing officers nose, the Mansfield Hackneys wouldn't have taken her because the job was only going down the road, they don't like jobs like that, they like jobs over £15 and won't take a penny less.
