The VM TX4 engine has an inherent design fault, where the crankshaft goes through the front of the engine block main shell bearing, most shell bearings have a protuding lug in order to locate & stop any movement, the VM front bearing has no such Lug & is reliant on compressed tight fit, further the oil feed in the bearing does not encircle the whole bearing thus slight movement may result in siezure of the engine. Aparently the guy in Derby has designed a bush type bearing to remedy the problem anybody used him before? contact details required?
