Post subject:  changing a light fitting

This morning I have been changing a light fitting in the bedroom.
What is the correct number of times that you should get an electric shock before deciding to turn the power off?

Actually a lot of electricians do stuff with the power still on ! I remember years ago when i had a conservatory built the electrician putting the power sockets in connected it up to the ring main still live and no he didn't get a shock

Whilst training as a coal face electrician and doing insulation and continuity tests on 1100v cable my mate lenny was 50 yards away putting a link in a junction box for test while i waited to wind the 1000v megger, except i didnt wait....

Last time I tried that I removed the Lighting fuse but still managed to create a small bolt of Lightning that Blackened the end of my Screwdiver and threw it across the room....Now its all power off before I even think about attempting home electrics.

I did a search of my name and town today and there was something strange come up. There was an obituary saying that I had died suddenly on February 7th 2015
