We have just started production on a new Science Entertainment series for Channel 4 called Men in White. I am very keen to include problems that are either occupational or related to hobbies and I thought that cab-drivers might have some good thoughts on this.

A new Channel 4 show seeks people of all ages who want science to improve their lives.

If you have a life problem that a gifted team of scientists and engineers could fix then we want YOU to get in touch.

Men in White is a stylish, action-packed series taking the ingenuity of three young scientists out on the road.

Each show will see 3 or 4 fascinating pleas for help from real people who have everyday problems which they hope the Men in White can solve.

Maybe an automated voice machine, so when people ask if you have been busy, the machine answers for you.

When they ask if you have been doing the job long ditto. Same for is it your car? Do you work nights? etc etc.

Tut tut tut ...trust you to come up with that idea......

What about something that, when you press a button, someone flags you down immediately for a twenty mile run and they don't want to negotiate a discount? Twenty miles is a decent distance because it's a good run and also not too far if you don't like the person

I would also suggest combining this with Tom's idea, but I know that the ideas have to be realistic

Come on guys - there must be some good ideas out there!? What is that thing that always [edited by admin] you off and there just has to be a solution for?
Now, I know this doesn't apply to you guys but once upon a time someone thought that it was really annoying that you can't read a map and drive at the same time - so.....sat nav was created! It's niggling things like that, that you endure but we could sort.

Okay, heres a challenge for your team, but its a big one.

Develop a Euro 3 compliant diesel engine for LTI that works.

I must impress on you the word 'Works'.

Considering they charge us £34k a go, they should'nt be short of funding.

Perhaps a smell-o-meter that can automatically spray a smelly, and only a smelly.
