Have an invoice ready, the fare plus late payment fee plus interest

If the owner were to ask for it back, would he hand it over without question?

Driver could take it to the police station, make a complaint about the runner and leave the phone as evidence

if the guy asks about the phone say youve handed it in....

Yeah right all the police would do is hand the phone back they aren't going to be interested in prosecuting a runner

thats exactly what i said tbh, hes not bothered about the phone, what he is going to do is wait for the call ( believe it or not , that phone aint rang since sat ), tell him he wants his original fare & that the meter will be on from when he sets off to his house , if the bloke don't agree, well hes off to Edinburgh soon so will hand it in there lol lol

I think I'd have threw it in the River Eden - I threw one in the Gulf of Mexico, and another in the Atlantic when in Ireland golfing, and one in a River in Scotland when golfing, it fills me with an enormous sense of well being ;)
