I expect to still have to be driving at 70 even though i've paid into pension plans all my life which are worth exactly what I've paid into them 0 growth in 25 years !!!!! |

Of course, if you have a private pension, and it doesn't need to be very much, you will not be eligible for any state benefits other than the basic pension when you retire. |

Try working tax credit, no age limit on that; council tax rebate, rent rebate, free opticians/dentist/bus travel/winter heating allowance. Otherwise no additional benefits? |

The thing about being retired is that you get bored.................you can only have so many holidays a year...........redecorate the house...buy a few cars....and make things..... |
