do any of you lot have any principles then ? 2 from today 1) i picked up a old bag from the office & proceeded to take her on her way, gets to the drop, meter read £2.80, so she hands me £2.50, i say its £2.80 , she then comes out with all the " im 92 & a pensioner crap", so i stuck to my guns, "are you , that's nice but its still £2.80", she dug around & gave me the extra 2) my (stupid) mate had a wait & return on a good fare, the lass who is a regular said once he set off " so we going to strike a deal then , im off to the metrocentre & back, so half price on the return & he said yes, he waited 20 mis for her to go shopping then took her back for half, " well i would be coming back empty anyway ( he would have had absolutely no idea at all if he was , could have got a airport/town job/nothing), what a arse anyway , its not the cash for me ( mine was only 30p) its the principle, why do people think they can do this to drivers then ? the lass that went to the metrocentre with my mate her hubby owns a butchers & have a a vouge in the drive , so , try going to his shop, Q-" how much are those steaks then mate" A-"£20 for 4", "tell ya what, i will give you £15" , what would happen ? fook off mate , so why do taxi drivers ( i dont know any other trade that does tbh ) do this , why cant they just pick up a fare & charge what's on the meter ? tips don't matter, just pay what's on the meter ffs! i hope i get her soon mind

It's standard practice in our trade to do wait and returns at 1.5 times one way price it's often the difference between getting the job and the customer going elsewhere and if you drive enough away what are you left with NOWT |

The public, almost without exception, is scared of "the meter", why is a 10 mile drive £20 when the car does 50mpg.... |

My Principles are that all Customers are valued clients regardless of age, sex, ability, nationality or religion. Those here without Principles would probably class elderly ladies as "Old Bags" and so on.

Fill the motor back up again and divide what they've taken off the job by the time they've taken to do the job. I bet there's no money left for an hourly rate. |
