so , needed a medical to renew my badge, went to the quacks with the form, done the eye test/blood pressure & the rest was filled in from my electronic records, have i suffered from ... ( insert problem here) yes/no etc, now i take this form all filled in by the doctor to the council offices, all sealed in a envelope, hand it in with the cash , & the lass on the counter opens it & reads all my medical records, what right has she to do this then ? she`s just a "desk jockey" after all, cant be legal surely , some daft bint has now read all my personal medical details

If it's not the lady on the desk then you should complain that your privacy has been breached. |

If you want to complain, make sure you follow the Councils complaints procedure. If, after you have followed the procedure you are still not happy, you can complain to the local government ombudsman or the information commissioner. |

ven2112 wrote: well i suppose its the doctor, I'm not sure. The doctor merely fills in the form, I doubt there is a 'is he safe to drive?' box. If a box is ticked that causes issues, then the council will refer to another doctor. However I doubt the girl on the desk makes the decision, so really it's not for her to stick her hooter in. |

It states, I CERTIFY that I have this day examined the applicant, who has signed this certificate in my presence, and whom in my opinion, is fit/unfit to drive a Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Vehicle, having attained/failed to meet Group 2 standards as defined by the DVLA. |
