Never had one, never will, but I think the main problems are the price, the MPG, the dealers, and umpteen things the lads who drive them will tell you.

I'll sell you a georgeous 1998 TX, FSH, immaculate in and out, new tyres, recently serviced, auto, Recaro seat, new carpets etc ....... ..........as soon as I can buy my E7, whenever that may be.
Seriously though, I'm quite impressed with my TX compared with my old fairway, it does use a bit more derv though because of the heavier chassis, but outdoes the TX2 on the engine front.

You shouldn't have too many problems with a TX1; LTI used the cab trade as a testing ground to debug the vehicle. Any recurrent problems were dealt with over the period of the first few years. Exhausts falling off, differentials packing up back axels being upgraded and replaced, steering box problems, bulkhead problems, not forgetting the various electrical problems they imported from the Fairway. The list is endless, but any TX1 you get now should be almost rebuilt from the ground up at the previous owner’s expense. Problems solved, well maybe, almost, feature of the cab perhaps. Let us know how you get on.

Well after that insight I will forget it. those city dwellers earn more in a day than I do for a week. Now if they brought a TX out with a HP VW engine or even the HP just think how quiet it would be in the cab and how much more mpg you would get. If everyone e mailed LTI and demanded a VW engine would they listen |
