more or less given up on the private hire stuff, since I parted company with the mrs about 15 months ago I really couldn't be arsed starting again and advertising, and can't be arsed working for a circuit day and night. I'm better off driving rail replacement buses at £20 an hour at weekends. At least when I'm finished, I'm finished, just a bit of a drive home. 8)

Talking of which, the state of the roads in London are worse than some I've seen in India! Liverpool Street to Chingford, one of the routes I do, 12 miles of 20mph speed limits, 12 miles of speed humps jarring my back every minute or so, how do full-time rivers put up with it? And as for road works, well, Boris needs shooting. The other week 25 minutes from Tower Hill to Aldgate, less than half a mile! That as the evening of the stabbing at Leytonstone. what the papers didn't say is why the armed response units couldn't get there was because all roads east from London were gridlocked by roadworks making Boris' cycle super highway!

And the week before, doing a job from Barking to South Tottenham, from Barking Bus stand to the station, less than 1/4 mile, 35 minutes; to get out of Barking to the North circular, 65 minutes for less than a mile!! Then to Woodgrange Park, 2 miles, 1 hour 45. :?

Then they must be bad.

But do drivers drive up the wrong side of a dual carriageway if the traffic on one side is a bit busy.

That defo left me speechless on the way to the airport.

Yeah, London's roads are getting that way. On the Mile end Road, the road works are so confusing you never really know where the road is. I reckon the cycle paths are likely to be converted to tramways in the near future, once traffic gets impossible to move. It's all a secret plot....

BTW, I got a star letter published in RouteOne magazine about this matter this week, I'll post a link when i find it online.

It's sorta like where small Body parts have ownership of a body and not the larger body ownership of it's small body part.

Great for the aforementioned small body part but truly bad for the Body as a whole,
