council software !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we have to apply online for vehicle licenses pay online there is one question which asks for the first date of registration of the vehicle. their stupid software allows you to select the year BUT you can only enter a date from the current month

so you are forced to put a false date in to complete the process #-o #-o #-o #-o

Anti gripe of the day.

Get a call today to see if I was in the country at the time to do a Gatwick take up. (Cheeky sod)

Fella gives me the day and time of flight, and it’s the same flight that I’m on.

Doesn’t get any better than someone else paying for your airport parking. :D

TOYOTA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my drivers has an Auris Hybrid which is regularly needing jump starting it's been to Toyota 3 times and they insist nothing wrong with the battery and refused to change it

Guess what had to jump start it again this morning

that is now about 17 times in 6 months

Definitely a faulty 12 volt battery if the battery drops below a certain level it won't power up the computer he needs to have it drop tested independently preferably at somewhere offering free testing possibly Halfords or somewhere similar in the mean time I would suggest he carries a starter charger with him so he won't need to get anyone else out if it happens again.

Could be an ignition coil fault, put it on a diagnostic test and it will tell you the fault.

I've already told you what the (possible) problem is and how to fix it !

Either the battery is faulty - replace it or switch for a known good battery from another vehicle and see if the problem goes away.
Or the driver is sitting with the engine off, but in accessory mode, and the pda, radio, headlights, heater etc are draining the battery to a level below what is required to initiate the startup computers.

The 12v battery on these cars have a low capacity and are really only there to initialise the startup procedure. They will flatten pretty quick (2 days left standing with an interior light on) compared to regular 12v batteries.
