I think SW's lane to nowhere would suit your needs. :D

Might be able to pick up a year's supply of hand sanitizers while you're there. 8-[

face masks

phoned a company up last Thursday who have been regularly emailing me offering PPE they advertised face masks at 69p each minimum quantity 100 so phoned them up and was told 79p plus £20 delivery

I said but your email said 69p and he kept going on and on about if I ordered 10000 I could get them much cheaper so i said no thanks

looked on Amazon same masks (basic) £13.40 for 50 including postage (27p each) so ordered them but they aren't coming till Tuesday and I have to do a Heathrow tonight 6 passengers (one family) emigrating back to the UK so tried two or three shops who have been selling but they hadn't got any.

The local petrol station has the price £1.99  for one mask !! the same basic type

Now I am fairly certain that they are importing these masks from China at probably less than 20p a mask so there is plenty of excessive profiteering going on

I did see some face masks on sale in Asda today.

Think it was £3.50 a pack of 5.

Only 3 flights listed for the evening in T2 mine was the last in landing at 18.48

What surprised me is that I was one of only 2 people wearing mask and gloves although about half had masks mostly sitting around their necks. there were PCSO's patrolling with no PPE at all and cleaners working mostly without PPE

There was even a group of about 8 airport workers who decided to do a group photo and all crowded in together to fit into the photo

Clearly I was about the only person who considered Heathrow T2 to be a higher risk place to visit

My pack of 50 from Amazon arrived today identical to the one I bought so if we get "updated" advice telling us to wear them I am now covered for a while

But isn't that an Uber advert, so they're not likely to promote a taxi office in Randomtown?

Nothing to stop you paying for your own advertising, Edders.

And plenty of firms using the local press for some free advertising using a broadly similar message, as the news section demonstrates.

But I meant to ask about that advert, because I think I saw it once (although wasn't paying that much attention), and that's the only time I've seen an advert for the trade on national TV. So does Uber advertise regularly on TV, and I just never saw it because my TV was rarely on, or is this a new thing?

Advertising nationally is a very very rare thing.

But locally a bit more common, especially in the big cities.

I think Uber advertise not for more work for the drivers, but for PR reasons.
