TOYOTA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my drivers has an Auris Hybrid which is regularly needing jump starting it's been to Toyota 3 times and they insist nothing wrong with the battery and refused to change it

Guess what had to jump start it again this morning

that is now about 17 times in 6 months

Haven’t you had this problem in the past with this vehicle/driver or was that someone else ?

I had similar trouble with the battery on my Prius 6 month ago after getting a jump start I drove down to my regular mechanic for him to test the battery when the battery was tested insitu it was fine reading 12.5v not running and 14v when started up so we were scratching our heads so decided to change battery as didn't have a clue what else to do,
when the old battery was tested off the car it only read 5v so was obviously f@cked which makes me wonder if you can't get a true reading in hybrids for some reason unless the battery is disconnected.

The electrics on a toyota hybrid remain powered up for a few minutes after shutting down.
You should wait at least 15 minutes after shutting off before checking the battery, without locking/unlocking the car as this activates the electronics to pressurise the braking system - and keep the key away if it's keyless as approaching the car will also initialise some electronics.

Taking a waiter home and he's telling me how well he's done on tips - £80, I moan saying how lucky he is and that hardly anyone tips nowadays*, not even rounding £4.80 fares up to a fiver.
Arrives at destination, £8.40 on the meter. Hands me a tenner and then says 'hang on I think I've got the 40p' :x

So I hands back his £2 change muttering something about what I was saying about no-one tipping anymore, as he gets out of the car he drops some loose change on the ground, looks at it and says 'it's only about 50p, not bothered about that' - and walks off ! :x

I didn't lower myself and start scrabbling on the ground for a bit of change and drove off.

*Used to get around £30-£40 a week tips, now it's less than £20  Like I say they wont even round £xx.80p fares up to the pound, I'm sure some deliberately pay by card to avoid tipping.

we get tipped by less than 5 percent of customers. the trouble is regulars as a rule don't tip and we have a lot of regulars

I must be perfect because I reckon to 10-15% over the week.
