Was is that all about?

sociologists refer to it as "instant gratification" which apparently means you do things like that to desperately escape your hum drum existence

just say err... don't scratch that in here mate or there will be a "garage vacuum " charge

Having to attend a sexual exploitation course today - what an absolute crock of sh*te. (If a drunk person gets in your car and starts crying it's worth reporting as they might be a victim of abuse !!)
It was mentioned though that police forces are looking at introducing a law that will ban the carriage of unaccompanied children in licensed vehicles, goodbye school runs !

With respect, police forces do not make laws. That is the job of Parliament.

The police do not introduce laws, Sasha, parliament does.

Think your lecturer needs to go on a course.

When three people get into the back of my car and the first person slides across the back seat instead of waling round and opening the other door.

People who press the button on a pelican crossing without looking to see how busy the road is.

Punters who get into my taxi and then want to stop at the shop 200 yards from their house.

Punters who expect me to wait outside the takeaway whilst they go inside and order their food.

our council has converted them all to full light control which means people see the cars waiting for the light to go red then cross as it turns green sometimes it can be 3 changes before any cars get across the one in the square

basically typical of any night of the week then

The police do not introduce laws, Sasha, parliament does.
I got the impression they were pushing local authorities to introduce it as a condition of the license, through bylaws and asking operators to do it voluntarily. He said it was not appropriate for strangers (taxi drivers) to be alone with a child in a vehicle as it could lead to all sorts of accusations, and questioned the reasoning of a parent who hands over their kid to someone they've never met before - FFS

It was a police inspector giving the lecture and he said they'd already banned the carriage of unaccompanied children in Manchester (or parts of). Whether this was by some law or voluntary measures was not stated.

Groups of usually students who want to split a 3.50 fare 4 ways

People who must think your on a set wage and take ages to come out

People who ring a taxi for straight away and when i pull up, say 'didnt think youd be here that quick, just ordered a drink'

Unloading and loading the boot, in the lashing rain, for 3.50
