Easy peasy! Take a mileage reading at the end of/beginning of the shift - fill up at the end of the shift. Leave the receipt in the car for the next driver to see that all has been done properly - pick up the/your receipt next time around.
it's not that easy.... been there seen that... I was a "company" driver for about 8 mnths when I first started together with the other driver who was working only Thu - Sun... not big deal... problems started about cleaning (I'm night person), "my" co-driver never left car cleaned after his shift ( he was always hurrying back to his wife), ok. I can do it but once on a Christmas time when wheater was crap and dirt all over I had to wash car properly after my allnight shift Christmas Eve, went to sleep to find car ready to wash again after his shift on Christmas Day... so it seemed, I've wash car after my shift and before my shift... spoke to him few days later, he said he doesn't know how to wash a car!!! normally car was parked on my driveway and water and hose provided outside 24/7... another issue, fuel, always problems cos "I didn't fill up and he has topped up after me for £3" and this type simmilar stories... personally, I will never share my own car with anybody else, my other car yes even between 4 drivers...
