Isn't about time PHV get to use this valuable infrastructure?

Why should my fare have to watch other taxi's fly by them?

We are complementary industries, 99% of Joe Public in London are either Taxi or PHV customers (not both) and the distinction is down to cost (or rather percieved cost). We do not in general have the same punters.

The grey areas are around corporate account jobs, and then that's down to the individual accounts and what they are willing to pay.

My, generally poorer, customers are being treated like second class citizens because they cannot afford to use taxi's.

Would you take a mother to collect her kids at a school 1.5 miles away and drive them back home. Round trip 3 miles, fare £5. Yes £5. That run will take you 30 mins in school run traffic. Would a Taxi provide this service - NO.

Why then not open up the bus lanes and do us all a favour, create a level playing field and may the best men win.

Peace to all.

I would, but the fare would be more than a fiver.

I would imagine Sussex / Steveo / Ollie who are all PH drivers would also charge more than a fiver for 30 mins of their time.

Why not change operators to one of the big companys like Addison lee or Premier?

It does amuse me sometimes when people have this image of me flying around in Bus Lanes. Image

The reality is your stuck behind 13 bendy buses and 6 white van drivers illegaly unloading. Image

Well at least let us pick up and drop off on red routes. Otherwise my punter will have to get a Taxi from where I can drop them to where they want to go!

Hmm, I saw that report, and even I, ( ) cannot see why you can't set a passenger down where its safe to do so??

In most other places if cabs are allowed in bus lanes, then the PH boys are too. :D

That said, it looks like TfL are going to allow those bikes in the bus lanes.

The Transport Committee recommends that the proposed Bill be amended to ensure that pedicabs are not subject to fines should they be required to use bus lanes .
