I was out and about today. As I came up to a set of traffic lights, I said to Mrs CJ, look at that saloon taxi ahead - how small are they trying to make them.........it was really small. The taxi car proceeded to turn left and shocked me even more - it had two doors only I could not see the plate closely, but it looked like Caerphilly Wales. Do any other LA's allow such silliness? |

My thoughts are........How can a two door (apparently) a 4 seater car, be considered safe as a taxi in the event of an accident. |

What difference does it make to the safety of the vehicle from being a private car or a taxi? The Cardiff LA have additional checks on top of a normal MOT.....so I guess public safety is parramount. |

For instance a 3 door car is considered to be safe in the event of an accident if it is privately owned but the same car being used as a Hackney would somehow be less safe in the same accident. Do they make the vehicle out of thinner materials if it going to be a Hackney? |
