Wrong imo, for a whole host of reasons.

1) psychological continuity - imo, someone at 90 is sufficiently different to the person they were at 20 that they lose a lot of responsibility for their acts (this will be controversial on here though )

2) punishing people is to, a) rehabilitate) and b) protect society. Neither are necessary or possible on these cases.

There should be a trial of the facts so we can learn from what happened, but a more powerful message than locking a 90 year old up is to let them walk free, having made them explain what happened. The important thing is this never happens again. How does imprisoning an old tw£t help that?

I think it reminds many, including the nutty left in this country, that 6,000,000 jews died at the hands of nutty fascists last century.

Of course according to certain members of the nutty left, jews were desperate for it.

I think many have a scant regard for historical fact.

The stern gang in Palestine were Zionists - I understand Zionism as Jewish nationalism - the stern gang made overtures to the Germans during ww2 to get support for kicking the British out of Palestine - that is a historical fact.

It is also a fact that the same group murdered 96 Arab, Jewish and British people at the King David Hotel.
