I am buying a car next week, and turn it into a private hire vehicle. It has leather seats (intended for my benefit). will it wear out faster than fabric? should I buy cheapo seat covers and cover every seat except mine? |

We have an '07 plate Laguna with leather seats. It has close to 200,000 miles on it now and the seats are all in good order. |

The seat that takes the most wear is the driver seat in particular the bolster as to whether to use seat covers if you intend working weekend nights I would say yes. |

Leather is OK as long as you treat it every month with leather treatment to stop it drying out. They sell some stuff in Wilkos for £4.99 and it does a good job. Don't buy this £1 stuff from Poundland it's useless. |

Besides price, the biggest beef against leather is how hot it gets in July and August. |
