Post subject:  Advice please. Taxi Driver inappropriate behaviour

I was out in my local town on Saturday night and got a taxi home at approx 2am.

I am aware of jumping into un-licenced cabs so I went to the taxi-office.

On the way home, the taxi driver was saying I had a nice smile. He then went on to ask if a I had a boyfriend. I informed him I was happily married. To which he replied I couldn't be happily married if I was out with a friend.

When I got home and paid £16 for my ride home he leaned into the back of the taxi and asked for a kiss. I told him in no-uncertain terms where to go.

Straight away, I called the taxi company and reported this. They did seem concerened but my husband hit the roof. My husband has tried contacting the taxi company again today to find out what action has been taken. No-one seems to know anything about it or care. The manager went home for the day at 3pm.

So what can I do about it?

Please help.

As tcabbie says you must report this incident to your local council. Just ring their main number and ask for the taxi department.

As your pick up was a radio job the details of the driver will be logged.

This is unacceptable behaviour you MUST take it further.

Dont let it put you off taking a cab home in the future, we're not all like the plonker who took you.

Always make a mental note of his plate number, another is to sit in the back get you mobile out and select a ringtone (so the driver can hear it ring) and pretend to talk to someone while your on your way home.

Bloody hell punters shouldnt have to do thngs like this to get home safely!!

Thank You all for your advice.

I have reported the incident to the Local Licencing Office and they are coming to take a statement from me next week. They have thanked me for coming forward.

I'm passed upset now. I'm angry. I just hope that they can do something before I see some niave 17 year old girl on the front page of the Newspaper.

It must be so hard in your industry when people like him give you all a bad name. I guess theres cowboys in every industry.

Thanks again.

Sorry forgot to add, the owner of the taxi company has also been to the Licencing Office BEFORE me to report this incident.

So I take back what I said about him not caring.
