Post subject:  Driving Private Hire Taxi

Have booked my practical driving test for Taxi in Milton Keynes as examiner is not available in my Wellingborough my home town lets hope it goes well :D

Can some body explain how Private Hire Taxi works I mean if the taxi firm pay for fuel and insurance and supply vehicle and require 60% of earnings. Will i need to put in fuel out of my own pocket and keep the receipt and then the firm will refund me the money back? Will i have to carry my own change ? Will i have to keep account of all the fares my self as well or will the taxi firm have it all logged how much i have made?

Thank you

And if you ask nicely, they may even have someone come round and wipe your arse.

You will pay for the fuel out of the 60%. So when you pay in you will pay part cash, and part receipt for the fuel.

As for how keeps account of jobs, different firms have different rules. I suspect they will tell you when you start.

the fuel comes out the base 60% (and all other expenses) the driver gets all the 40% of the shifts takings, account tickets count as cash in with the 60%

until the cash doesnt cover the 40%....then the base has to make it up

So to earn £400 you have to take £1,000.

Good luck with that one.

It will work out a hell of a lot cheaper to plate your own car.
