I will have to see if I can book a load of Ubers to cover my work. Then I can have the night off and keep the money. Happy days.

You still have to open an account with these pirates, giving them your card details and no guarantee that they will not take payment out of the account at sometime. In this world their is no such thing as a free dinner.

My youngest used Uber to go from Paddington to Victoria last night.

Car arrived in minutes, driver rang to suggest a pick up point, it had bottles of water for punters, and cost £7.

Not sure what a black cab would charge but I suspect more.

Now I'm far from being a fan of Uber, but that particular service he received is as good as any of us offer.

bottom line is mate, the hacks in the smoke have had it too good, too long, there is some competition now & they are chitting themselves, ffs , if you asked a London hack for a bottle of water they would have charged you £7 for the bottle , never mind the fare , good luck to them, they offer a fantastic service in the big cities & will put all the greedy fookers out of business eventually

It beats me how uber attract so many mug drivers willing to drive miles for crap jobs when ours will really resist doing any job that is a little underpriced or has too much dead mileage on it.

You have got to look at the make of the type of driver Uber attracts. They tend to be immigrants who may not have the
same outgoings as a native driver (mortgage ,high rents , council tax ,water rates) so they can afford to take on low paid work.
Uber know this and exploit it for their on ends.
