And you were under 50, what job would you do/what job would you train to do?

Talking to a couple of drivers here who are thinking of jacking it in.

he's lucky then because it is estimated that they get nearly 1000 applicants for every job available they earn more than double average earnings

Three years on the waiting list helps and a brother in the same occupation helps a little.

my niece works as a metro driver , she's on a good wage about 30k pa :shock: ( been doing it for a bit mind), me? , well i thought about giving up the taxis & doing the "live in support worker", picked up a few lads who do this, seems a canny job. go to the pub/cinema/footy all free !! suppose its the wrong reasons though, i love my school run with the kids & would like my own,( although i have owned/admin/modded forums i just cant work that site at all, been trying for a year :shock:) then just do the runs Mon-fri & weekends off so i can go out on my bike, only me & our lass after all & im not greedy

Shes on good wage because their Union negotiated good rates :D :D Lets hope tht when its nec essary to strike to protect those rates shes on the picket line :D

wish you luck in yer next career Edders if you leave cabbing ................not greedy. your in the minority there mate a fair days pay for a fair days work is an alien concept these days #-o

He's with Virgin so I doubt the strike will bother him. The Underground drivers seem to work their doors OK on their own!!
