They can. They should consult with the trade first and you do have the right to appeal against it.

Not what the courts say though, and yes you can appeal it

thanks, they did consult though chose to ignore the majority of comments made to a new policy
and it was agreed by councillors last night

Id be interested to know how one goes about appealing such things

I think a one colour is good. Since they scrapped the colours in most towns the ranks look like a car auction.

I am not actually adverse to that and think Hackneys should be one colour

however don't know why they want to make P/H stand out and why they chose 2 colours for each.. Also colours for P/H the whole trade bar 2 companies objected to.

surely they could do that more easily by applying vinyls with the town crest to all cars or has no one suggested that. Also have they offered any money towards drivers costs ?

You apply to the magistrates court.

they wanted to put a crest on the car for all but in the middle of the bonnet

i and others suggest on the door incorperating business name

hackneys here already have black and white chequers down the side

we don't have an association here it folded due to lack of support

some of us considered re starting it but decided against as there is little team work here

I am not in a union but several I believe are
sadly in my mind the trade here doesn't understand how a union works nor do i believe they would support it when required

sounds like they want a council fleet....silver with crests, maybe they should buy all the cars and set the drivers on at PAYE
