i was paying my class 2 by direct debit

they refunded me £145 saying they will collect £145 by direct debit

now i get a death threat from HMRC for £145

I have just had a bill it turns out that part of it was NI which is now amalgamated into your tax liability .I was just going to phone them to ask why they were not taking NI by direct debit anymore.dont worry.

Noticeably theres no contact details on it

If you log in to your government gateway site you can see your tax position. I stopped being self employed at the end of 2015 and when I did my last return I had overpaid by nearly £500.00.
Eventually I have received my repayment, including interest. However if I log in again now it still says that I have a credit value of £1.00. Now why have they not paid back this £1.00?

I think there is a limit on automatic repayments can't remember what the level is might be about £100 but balances under the level are not automatically repaid

In my case they agreed to the refund but for some reason left £1.00 behind. I may just leave it there collecting interest for a few years.
