for a taxi rank on a public road yes and laid out as per DOT rules but not on private land as far as I am aware. There should however be byelaws governing the use of the rank surely ?

Then you broke licensing laws. You can't "wait" on a taxi rank, you have to be available for immediate hire.

it was not a kosher rank

If the parking company can prove you weren't obstructing the flow of commerce or causing an obstruction there's f*ck all they can do about it. As it was on private land there's zero f*cks to be given on your side.

1. Mine was a taxi on a taxi rank

2. There are no time limit signs on that side of the drive

3. The other side is marked "Drop off bay 20 minutes maximum"

They ask for job records for the day, I said im hackney and dont keep them

The best charge notice i had was from the Dartford bridge

"£100 fine unless you now pay the £2.50 crossing fee"

I did pay that, 2 weeks after i missed the signs

the signs said "You no longer have to pay.............."

(at the tolls.... thats the bit i missed)

Unless it's a council taxi rank with signage according to TSRGD (Traffic signs Regulations and General Directions) then it isn't worth the paint it's written with.
