Morning all, new to this site but long term cabby down south. I, or rather a good friend also a cabby, together we are looking for advice/ info from anyone having any knowledge of the system "icabby" Where I work we don't use it,and must confess have never heard of it. My friend is after info as to what it can and can't do, in short its capabilities. My mate would like a conversation with anyone willing to chat through said system if possible. Any willing parties willing to help would be much appreciated so thank you in advance. I'm not sure if this site does private messages, but if so please PM me for contact details. Thanks again. |

Sorry, that should read "icabbie", correct spelling, just in case there are two such systems. |

I'm still on Mercury but have looked at Icabbi. From what I understand the main issues revolve around server drop out resulting in outages otherwise it is a better system BUT can be expensive so I'm told most of the systems now charge per car per week so if you are a large fleet well..... |

The reason I/we are interested is because among other things we want to know if certain settings can be changed on it. For example, the system in use logs every job and keeps them for 6 months. No problem with that, BUT, it also logs the fare for every job too, so for the unscrupulous amongst drivers, there could be a discrepancy in what IT logs and what the driver books. So the question I would like answered, if anybody knows, can the logging of fares be turned off as to not record takings. Our powers that be reckon not. But surely there must be a way. |

Why the worry about the six months record? Concern could be if the system kept them for 2 years, thus enabling inspectors to check if your tax return was correct. |

The worry is although having to be kept for 6 months, in truth they are on file for much longer. How long at the moment is anybody's guess. |
