I know a woman taxi driver who was also p/t on the base at a local firm She did a school contract, 50 miles each way so 200 miles total a day She rented a car off the base for £300/week (just add fuel, PDA included) Being in the office she came across the invoice for her school run for which she got a total of £100/day Base were getting just under £200/day.... So the base were seeing £800/week from her (term time) |

I picked up one of our railway contracts. Passenger says 'not a bad job, £100 for a couple of hours driving'. I replied it's only £60 - turns out he was the contract manager and they pay the firm £100 per trip. |

I recall a contact (owner/driver) who was "mates" with his base owner, about 130 cars at £120/week rent and told the guy he creamed £250K a year off the top of contracts then he got my mate and 6 others to chip in and start a new base which lasted 6 months with no refunds

Heres another.. The base im on, if we do an account job, we put a ticket in and deduct it from the rent due end of week Previously, other base, we had to invoice the base EOM and wait 45 days for a cheque |

When I was doing contracts for other people, I couldn't care less what they were getting paid for it as long as I was getting what I wanted. |

The job required a female driver, she was one of only 2 on the circuit. If it had been me the day I saw the invoice would have been the last day i did it without a big pay increase |
