Post subject:  Interpritation of Pre-Booking

In these days of rules and regulations how do PH drivers feel about these points:-

1) Having a booking register at your base showing Pickup, Destination etc. (The address shown on opperators Licence).
2) Returning to base after each Job.

Senareo

You work on your own.
Telephone rings at 7:30pm for a booking from address(a) to address(b) Name of Smith @ 11pm.
At 10:55pm(5 minutes early as all good PH drivers). Somebody approaches you to take them home(name of Jones).
Yoe explain that you already have a booking and you are PH so only do Pre-booked. Mr Smith approaches you, gets in the Vehicle and asks what Mr Jones wants. You explain. Mr Smith asks Mr Jones where he’s going and Invites Mr Jones to Share the PH trip. Mr Jones is travelling 10 miles further down the road. What do you do?
a) Except the additional mileage rubbing your hands with glee!
b) Explain that your booking clearly shows pickup and drop off points, so you cannot take Mr Jones any further than the original booking.
c) Give Mr jones your mobile number to ring in 10 mins, take the booking and return to collect Mr Jones without returning to your base to add the Job.
Interesting........ :doubt:

All bookings can be amended.

Returning to base went out when radio came in.
