Two schools of thought, first is your scenario which has makes sense.

Second is you have 100 drivers working 70 hours picking up your punters. If those drivers could only work 58 hours you would still have the same amount of drivers and the same amount of punters, just that those drivers would be a lot busier in those hours they worked.

The only way school two doesn't work is when currently your drivers are working non stop, but I doubt there is a cab firm in the world where that applies.

There is a lot of greedy private hire operators out there who claim that their cars are working non stop,using that statement to entice other drivers from rivals just to line their own pockets.

erm... thats assuming the punters are prepared to wait longer for thier pickup and not ring another form, then they dont come back and the work dies off for the 100 drivers

Why would they wait?

When you next clear you meter, if you have one, look at the length of time you were logged on, and compare that with the length of time you were engaged.

Less cars working at any one time means less time doing nothing, not more time for punters waiting.

That assume everyone in the trade, except one, is as thick as pigs sh**.

If it was that busy then drivers would work those hours, rather than the hours when they sit around scratching their bums.

no, it was mathematical example

half the cars = twice the jobs for the cars that remain

twice the cars = half the job/car compare dto now

The cake sliced half as many ways or twice as many ways...........

when uber goes down and 40,000 PH cars rejoin bases wait for the screams....

I might be driving a milk tanker soon, apparently it doesn't come under eu driving hours. It is GB domestic hours and I would only be required to have one day off a fortnight (that's my understanding anyway) so I will be able to carry on cabbying in my spare time... Result!!!

I suggest you read the GB domestic rules hours, rest is a day when you are not driving.

I know. One day a fortnight. That's what I said. So if I'm doing 5 on 3 off, that gives me quite a few days to be cabbying.
