We had a similar problem a few weeks ago when a driver tried to use the wipers when they were frosted to the screen. The linkage from the motor to the wipers had popped off. It is a ball and socket connection. |

Sometimes the Nylon or alloy drive gears goes in the motor, the gears teeth just wear through use and one day they'll be working and next day they won't, the motor will still work but it'll have no drive. |

had a car once that did that frequently it was just a case of open the bonnet and pop the socket back into place but due to wear it used to do it frequently until i had the whole lot replaced (very expensive!!!!!!!) alternatively it might be possible to get the assembly off a scrap car if it is not a newish model and fit it |
