Including Lorries, taxis etc http://www.clearingtheairscotland.com/faqs/pdf/Brochure.pdf 26th MARCH Helping to get your business or organisation ready for the new law on smoking. A guide for employers, managers and those in control of premises Key facts on the new smoking law Places where the new law will apply Vehicles used for business purposes will also be affected by the new law. These include light and heavy goods vehicles, and public transport such as taxis, buses, trains and ferries. I don't want to ruin your day but if you follow the law by the book once a car is licensed for private hire only licensed private hire (or taxi) drivers can drive it although I remember reading somewhere on the Aberdeen City Council site that they took advice from the Police on the matter & they said they turn a blind eye to drivers spouses

I cant see it lasting long, self employed, own vehicle, as long as you dont smoke while passengers are in, i dont see how they can make it law, or at least how long it will stay law. I smoke (not when mobile) and only with my window open, often punters comment on "how nice and clean and smells nice" my car is. And "its nice to get a taxi that doesnt smell of smoke" |

I'm sure theres been a total ban in Dundee for a couple of years, but Im not sure how it's worked out. I've seen one or two drivers smoking when I've been in Dundee, but I suppose one or two will always ignore the rules. Or maybe i'm wrong about the total ban. |
